I really hate how we feel like we are not doing enough. Like who decides what is enough anyways?
I have definitely been struggling with this feeling a lot lately, more than usual. Which is worrying, but I am paying close attention to the things that triggers this feeling and doing whatever it is I need to do to change it. I have to remind myself of what I am doing and what my definition of enough is.
Came to the realization that I’m not doing enough of what matters most to me. I may seem busy and always doing something, but if it’s not something that brings me a step closer to achieving goals, it never feels like it’s enough.
3 things to do when you feel like you are not doing enough:
Talk To Someone
Sometimes just getting those feelings off your chest is really affective. I’m blessed to have a mother and sister who are also on their own self discovery journeys. We often get together and chat about our concerns, revaluations and thoughts.
Normally one of us steps in to bat away negative self talk. It’s okay to acknowledge your feelings, but it’s important to have someone around who will challenge those negative self talk moments with something positive.
My brother and mum suggested that I’m always doing something, prior to that I felt like I wasn’t doing anything with my time. That conversation with my mum later revealed that I was doing a lot, just not enough of what matters to me.
Reflect
Look at what you have done and what you want to do more of?
It is very easy to get caught up in the negative thoughts we have so, it’s important to reflect and look back at what you have done and then see what you’d like to do more of.
What made you feel fulfilled?
We can be busy, but if it’s not whilst we are doing what we love or enjoy. It can often feel like a waste of time or just like you haven’t don’t anything useful with your time.
Ask Yourself
What Does enough look like to me?
If your idea of doing enough depends on what others are doing and what you are not doing then you need to pause.
Comparison is one of my biggest enemies, it comes when self-esteem is low and self-doubt is high. Comparison comes easy when you are not doing enough of what matters most to you. Remind yourself of your why, remind yourself that you will not be anybody other than yourself and your main goal should be to be the best version yourself.
Sounds cheesy but it helps me when I’m feeling a bit low and unhappy with my situation.

Great article…it is necessary to set goals but we have to make sure that they are realistic and that we don’t get caught up trying to do too much. Cause that causes you to really be demotivating 😑

I can wholeheartedly resonate with this post. It’s so frustrating being super busy, but not doing enough of what it is you actually want to do.

Exactly! I’d much rather be busy do what I love instead of just being busy for the sake of it
